ملخص تعتزم الكاتبة الهندية الترنداديةالأيرلندية والكندية شاني موتو في روايتها ''الشمعية تزهر بالليل" نبذ العالمالذيأعيدبناؤه حديثا من قبل المستعمر الغاشم والذي ورط تاريخ كل من الرجل والمرأة فيمعاناة طويلةالأمد تحمل بقع سوداء وأشواك صعبةالإزالة لا تزال تؤرق الرجل المستعمَر وتلفهفي قفصالإهمال. تلقي موتو من خلال روايتها الضوء علي الصدمة الكبيرة التي تعود جذورها للموروث الاستعماري الذي يعد صدمة كبيرة و تراجيديا عظمي قسمت الشعوب، العقول، اللغة، الذاكرة و حتى الجنسانية، مركزةبذألك علي معاناة المرأة خصوصا فيما يتعلق بالعنف المنزلي، وهي المعضلة الكبيرة التي خلفت العديد من الأجنة المشوهة والتي تصنفها موتو في السياق الأوسعللاضطهاد الاستعماري البدني والنفسي المتجدد، ويعد الاغتراب، الهروب، النفي وتفتيت الجسم و الهوية من السلبيات التي لا مفر منها في فتح أفاقغامضة للمزيد من المعضلات.----------------------------------------------Summary In her novel Cereus Blooms at Night, The Indo-Trinidadian, Irish and Canadian writer, ShaniMootoo intends to repudiate the newly reconstructed worlds by the evil figure of the colonizers which had plagued both men and women’s history with stubborn stains, darkest points and irremovable thorns of long lasting effects of their suffering that are still wrapping the colonized man in dusty cages of loss and neglect. Mootoo sheds light on a big trauma embedded from colonial heritage, a trauma that fragments and a big tragedy that splits people’s bodies, minds, language, memory and even sexuality; focusing on women’s experience of domestic violence, a big dilemma that led to the birth of many anomalous fetus, which ShaniMootoo situates in the wider context of reiterated physical and psychological colonial oppression. Alienation, escape, exile and fragmentation of the body and identity are of inevitable drawbacks that open ambiguous avenues to further dilemmas.
